It lives...It LIVES!!!

Though barely, I must say.

Damn. It's been almost a year. I can't believe I just completely neglected this journal for that long!

A lot of things have changed in the last year and, unfortunately, a lot have stayed the same as well. My spiritual exodus has progressed to its conclusion (as far as searching for the correct denomination for me) and I surprised none more than myself at finding fulfillment in the Catholic church. As you'll see from the posts below, I went through a long period of angst over reconciling homosexuality and my faith but I think I've come to a point that I'll have to "agree to disagree" and move on.

I'm not going to turn this post into a theological treatise; I'm just going to give the basic facts about the last year of my life. Work is going well. I left the annoyingly bigoted coworker behind and moved on to greener pastures in a brand new area, where I was in the very first trainee class for the system. It's satisfying work most of the time and it requires long hours, which is nice when the overtime paycheck comes around. I'm finally starting to think about putting out for a management position; an idea I completely vetoed every time it was suggested to me. I'm kind of a loner and don't much care for being responsible for other people and their work.

Our company just built a brand new, state of the art building, which will be somewhat the flagship of the offices. It's stunning and I'm thrilled to get to work in it, quite honestly, as everything is top notch and comfortable and best of all, *new*! No more "boobytrapped" chairs that have a tendency to spill you out in the floor if you're not careful.

They moved the office (over 1000 people) this past weekend but I didn't get to enjoy it, as I was on vacation and moving myself. The little town I live in has another, even smaller town, that's sort of attached to it (think the Twin Cities). Real estate prices in the smaller town are infinitely more reasonable and I found an apartment in the nicest complex I've ever been at, for exactly the same rent I was paying for a dump in the larger town. I just got finished moving everything in yesterday evening and it's *wonderful*!

Now I have almost a week left on vacation to enjoy the new place and get everything situated, before I get to go back to work and enjoy the new place there.

That's about it, I guess. I didn't have a whole lot to say this time, mostly because I'm still tired from the last few days and any eloquence I usually have has exited stage left. Hopefully I'll write again before another year goes by, though.
